Most Popular Feng Shui Facts

2011-09-06 Feng Shui No Comments

Take feng shui recommendations as a way of self understanding. Though one needs to have a fundamental understanding of just how this old Oriental principle functions, it could all begin simply by reading an article in a publication or on the Internet.

Most feng shui guidelines are very practical in positioning, as people are interested in finding the smart mode to set up their business office, their property or living environment generally speaking. Precisely what all of us have come to find out the hard way is usually that the random arrangement of the private as well as professional room or space have an impact on our mood, potential to focus and on the entire body as a whole. This is why, to a Western mind, feng shui tips are methods to dispose thoughtfully of the environment space.

The proper arrangement of a location creates harmony and balance in the way many of us have an understanding of the environment. Generally feng shui tips instruct you to start with an examination of the area to re-organize according the Ba-Gua, the nine-grid chart which displays the disposal of the items in a space according to the cardinal points, the five basic fundamentals and their related colours. Each area in the graph stands for one aspect of our lives, and the chi or the vital energy is the component that gives unity to everything. There where the chi is damaged, you’ll discover unsatisfied families, burdened with inner thoughts of stress and panic, envy, anger, lack of compassion and perhaps hate.

What exactly should an individual make of feng shui tips? First, it is very important to note the point that the huge benefits resulting from the right use of feng shui tips should be reviewed and understood. One cannot integrate a single feng shui aspect in his/her workspace and believe everything to improve in a good way. There’s a combination of factors, circumstances and private inclinations that are responsible for the balance or imbalance in someone’s existence. The impact or the modification needs to be done on the complete assembly and not on disparate aspects alone.

Also, we have to recognise the fashionable aspect of the feng shui. Artificial beliefs that don’t take the basis of this kind of practice into consideration but rather keep on being limited to the surface luster of “apparent” gains are harmful by nature. Shallowness doesn’t make a match with real feng shui; hence, do not try to make this principle a bombastic component of your lifestyle; the only thing that matters is what results from it. Knowing, studying, putting into practice and continuously learning, these are the ways to cultivate the energy of feng shui in its traditional form.

Suggestions to Feng Shuy Your Bedroom

2011-08-19 Feng Shui No Comments

Feng Shui has been implemented for thousands and thousands of years to enhance the quality of our lifes and therefore to produce tranquility, among many other factors, into the house. People can use Feng Shui in any location that you would wish but a lot of persons implement it in the master bedroom.

Feng Shui is pronounced “Fung Shway” and can be used to help you sleep better and enhance your love life. If this sounds like something you would like to create to your own bedroom, here are several “rules” which you will need to figure out that will help you create a feng shui bedroom.

The bed is without question a very significant part of furniture in the bedchamber. An individual’s bed needs to be in a command location. What this means is that a bed must be in whole view of the room entrance but not in the straight line of the entrance. You also need to leave plenty of space on both sides of the bed for each partner to get in and out of bed with no hassle.

And also, never ever have your bed in the position where your feet are facing the door. This is very negative Feng Shui. This kind of placement is called the death position since the dead are generally carried out by their feet.
It’s advisable if a person prefer to have your bedroom in the farthest room in your home from the front door. This is said to offer the mind greater security since there is that much more distance between anything coming in the door and you taking a nap in bed.
This can be very harmful Feng Shui to put your bedroom pointed to the front door.

Though, in certain cases we don’t have any real option where the bedroom is situated although you can however make use of alternative strategies to Feng Shui your bedroom.

Eliminate the clutter. Any kind of clutter that reaches over your head that will make an individual feel irritated, so you need to clean everything that should not be piled-up on your dresser or side furniture. The clutter will inhibit the Chi from flowing normally as it should.
Anything in your current bedroom that has to do with other things that don’t have to do with sleep or the bedroom need to be changed. For example if you have job connected elements in your room, they should be taken out. Computing devices, tvs, stereos along with other electronics really don’t fit in the bedroom either.

These are generally three of the best recommendations which can be provided for individuals who wish to convert their sleeping rooms into a Feng Shui paradise. Not only will Feng Shui enhance your lifestyle but choosing Feng Shui in the bedroom can help improve your sleep routines in order that you wake up feeling much more relaxed as well as completely regenerated.

There are actually some other factors people will need to look at when you plan set up a feng shui bedroom. Be sure you do all the basic research as you can just before you begin. You have to understand precisely what you are going to do and precisely how to accomplish it before you get started. You actually do not need to be a believer for Feng Shui to bring miracles in your existence.

Feng Shui in Your Bedroom – How to Break or Discourage a Relationship

2011-04-25 Feng Shui No Comments

Feng Shui is about “moulding” the environment to encourage a particular behaviour. In an earlier article, I wrote about encouraging a new relationship. In this article, I am writing how to discourage a relationship.

I have given some thought on whether I should write about using this method of feng shui in this manner. I decided that breaking up a relationship is part of nature and is part of any social behaviour. If you are not comfortable, why carry on? However, if you are married, there is a commitment there.

Instances of discouraging a relationship:

a. You are married and your partner has eyes on another.
b. You are not happy with your current relationship and cannot see it going further but find it difficult making the break.

Step 1:
Work out your Chinese Zodiac animal. Details of this can be found in the article “Feng Shui in your bedroom – looking for love?”

Step 2:
What you do next in the bedroom.

Group 1 – Pig, Rabbit, Sheep – Place an indoor plant on the North side.
Group 2 – Snake, Rooster, Ox – Place 9 round silver coloured or metallic balls in the South side.
Group 3 – Tiger, Horse, Dog – Place or hang a red cloth or red object on the East side.
Group 4 – Dragon, Rat, Monkey – Place a bowl of water in the West side. Keep it topped up with water.

Step 3:
When do you start?

Place the item in the designated location about the 7th day of the new month. This then coincides with the start of the Chinese month.

Conclusion: A simple method in feng shui – Peach Blossom is used to modify behaviour. This is to help the person’s situation.

Using Nature As A Decor

2011-01-11 Feng Shui No Comments

If you want to bring touches of nature inside your home, there are many ways to do so. By incorporating nature into your décor, you also are adding unique items that can help you connect with the room. Following are some great tips as to simple ways you can add nature to your home.

Use Water in Your Décor
You will find that there are many different water fountain designs to choose from. However, for that natural look, you need to find one that most closely resembles the natural world. Your best bet is a water fountain that has rocks and stones making up the base. A fountain in a room is pleasing visually and will produce sounds of flowing water that are sure to put you in a natural frame of mind.

Decorate with House Plants
By adding a real plant to any room, you are instantly bringing nature inside. Depending on the style of the décor, there are several different house plants you can choose from. For instance, a simple cactus would look great in a Southwestern theme, whereas a fern would fit better with a Victorian motif. A chrysanthemum, an African violet, or another house plant with vibrant flowers can add some instant color to the room.

When you’re looking for a basket or pot to put the house plants in, try to find something that coordinates with the décor of the room. Be sure you situate it in an area where it will receive the optimal amount of light. But you also want the plant in a place where it will contribute to the overall beauty of the room.

Create a Wreath from Nature
You can create a truly unique nature décor item by creating your own wreath using items from nature. Some great additions to a nature wreath include reeds, vines, seeds, pinecones, flowers, and dried berries. Creating your own wreath is probably the best way to match the style of the room, but there are also plenty of places where you can buy nature wreaths, such as at a craft fair. Find a central location in which to hang the wreath, such as above a fireplace mantel or above the entrance to another room.

Collect Small Items from Nature
A great way to incorporate nature into your décor is to start a collection of things you love from nature. You can easily add a natural touch to a room with a vase full of river rocks or a basket filled with seashells. Just a tip: if you want to bring out the vibrant colors of those shells and rocks, you may need to keep them in water. Other great nature collectibles include flowers, pinecones, seeds, fruit, and branches.

You can incorporate nature into your home’s décor in these and so many other ways. All you have to do is get creative and pay attention the next time you are outside. You might just find some items that will go perfectly in your home.

How to Get Rid of Noisy Spirits With Feng Shui

2010-12-17 Feng Shui No Comments

For those who are bothered by ‘things going bump in the night’, otherwise known as noisy spirits, there are multiple ways to deal with such things. While the Catholic Church is noted to be the only organized religion that has specific exorcism rites, many other traditions have less dramatic means of dealing with unwanted spirits.

The first thing one needs to do is determine what kind of spirit one is dealing with: ghost, thought construct, Demon/Djinn, ET or inter-dimensional. Each has a different means of control and some you just don’t mess with alone. For the purpose of this article we will discuss a less confrontational method of dealing with unwanted entities using feng shui. The main precaution is to realize that if the activity gets more intense after the cures are placed, one may be dealing with something other than the garden variety ghost and may require the services of the appropriate tradition.

Ghosts can either be active or passive (a magnetic recording). When tragedy happens, such as a murder or terrible accident, there is an imprint left upon the area. Some areas hold those magnetic imprints better than others due to the natural substances in the ground, ley lines or particular geometric shapes. The event plays out the same, over and over; castles in England are notorious for this sort of haunting. The other type of ghost is active-a restless spirit who is earth-bound and either unwilling or unable to leave the area. The inability to leave can be due to unfinished business, anger, or love. Some ghosts are stuck because they are afraid of the White Light that would transport them to another phase. They fear Judgment, thanks to the idiotic, fear-based teachings of some organized religions.

For the ghosts who are afraid to leave, a gentle assistance and calling in of their loved ones from the White Light may be all that is needed. An easy task, it can be accomplished quickly by a loving prayer of intercession; a request for assistance from the White Light. For the magnetic imprint kind, the house and person or pet needs to be cleared and the imprint erased, which requires a little more effort and knowledge. In some traditions, an ancestors’ altar is used, with objects the ancestor used in life, including booze and cigarettes if those were their habits. Fresh food and flowers are placed on the altar and they are remembered and spoken to; this usually quiets those family spirits that are hanging around.

To keep the home quiet from other spirits, incense or sage smoke is first used, with one window or door open. One would call in their other-worldly helpers, such as Jesus Christ, Krishna, Wakantanka, Archangel Michael, etc. Archangel Gabriel (in the Christian tradition) is called in to open his portal and take the spirits to where they belong-away from the home and people there. The smoke is thoroughly spread throughout each room and coaxed into every corner, closet and drawer, all the way to the end of the home and out the open door or window. Sweet incense is then used, such as Sweetgrass or Temple Incense. Then a 5-element pagoda ringing bell, gong, or singing bowl is used, to change the area to a higher vibratory level. One would then dedicate the home to the Light and demand that it remain clear of any interfering spirits. One would ring the bell, gong or bowl every week on a particular day or more often to keep the area clear.

The idea is to keep the home ‘sweet’ and clear of anger and other negative emotions. Negative spirits are drawn to negative emotions, so keeping oneself clear of such negativity is most important; meditation helps with this. There are then other feng shui objects that work as guardians to help keep the people protected (see “Protecting Home and People with Feng Shui”).

How to Use Light As a Feng Shui Enhancer

2010-11-11 Feng Shui No Comments

Activating the good sectors of ones’ feng shui is simple if the method used is Flying Star School. Basically, keep the unlucky directions dim and light up the lucky ones. There are numerous cures and enhancers to accomplish the task but one of the easiest ones is light. There is also the underlying décor to consider; perhaps Asian décor is not the look one is going for. For those who have a minimalist style, light may be the only enhancer that would be in keeping with that type of decorating.

The type of fixture used will depend then on the area in which it is placed. Wall sconces would work well for about 20 years but then might need to be changed. For Period 8-which we are currently in-wall sconces in the center of the home or office are perfect; that will work until 2024. Since the flying stars change every 20 years, every year, and every month, such things could be planned for. Those who have buildings that never seem to be occupied or which have changed hands several times might want to take a look at such things.

The auspicious directions to enhance would be the #1, 4, 6, 8, and 9 stars. Number 8 and 9 deal with wealth (current and long-term respectively) and the 1 and 6 stars deal with good fortune and heavenly blessings; the #4 star is for romance and partnerships. To see where the stars are each year and month, find a chart depicting their locations (readily available for free on the internet).

Once you have the yearly stars’ locations, you can tweak them by performing the monthly changes. For instance, in 2010 the Wealth center is in the center of the home, which means everyone in the home benefits from that star. One would then set up their Wealth center in the center and activate it when good monthly stars visit and keep it dim or apply protective cures when the bad stars occupy that area. Enhancement of the sector where the #8 Star of Prosperity flies to would then be a good idea-unless it happens to be a bad star location for the year.

Enhancements with light can be very simple, such as candles or flameless candles, desk lamps or torchieres. One can also use faceted or natural clear crystals to represent light. When using light as an energizer, think about what it is shining onto. Having it reflect onto a pile of gold coins would increase wealth, onto plants would increase health and new beginnings or growth, onto spiritual images would bring more spirituality into one’s life. Hanging strings of twinkling lights or using flickering flameless candles does more than create ambiance, it also activates more energy each time the illumination turns on and off.

There are also room fresheners available now, with lighted bases and scented screens, providing both pleasant scent and illumination. Whichever type of lighting is chosen, keep in mind that it is a yang activator and as such, should be moving whenever possible. Used wisely, this valuable enhancer and cure can really create positive change and wonderful experiences to flow into your life.

5 Feng Shui Bedroom Tips to Enhance Your Life

2010-08-18 Feng Shui No Comments

The ancient study of Feng Shui reveals many ideas and secrets which can enhance the energy or chi in your bedroom. Often things within your bedroom will reflect what is happening in your love life and relationships.

Your Feng Shui bedroom should have a feel of joy, happiness and relaxation to which you can add all the romantic cures to stimulate your relationship.

The main Feng Shui bedroom tips to consider are:-

1. Feng Shui Symbols – What do things in your bedroom represent to you and do they reflect what you want. If you want a loving relationship do you have images of loving couple in the room? or if you want to be single ( yes some people do ), do you have pictures of just your self in the room. Everything in the bedroom will have some Feng Shui symbols meaning to you, just make sure what you want and what your objects symbolise are the same thing

2. Colour – Feng Shui Color has a major impact on how you feel in a bedroom. Go for soft muted tones as the base color for Feng Shui interior design. Don’t use strong vibrant colours which will mean that the chi generated is so strong you will not get a good nights sleep every night. {You can always add strong vibrant colours for nights when you don’t want to sleep as much) Your bedroom should feel warm, relaxing and inviting

3. Furniture – ensure the room does not feel too overcrowded with furniture. Your bed size should be in proportion to the room, it is great to use natural cotton sheets which feel luxurious and have some big cushions and pillows to add that extra feeling of luxury.

4. Electronic Equipment – It has been shown that electronic equipment can generate extra chi and sometimes the electromagnetic fields are not great for your health or sleep. Remove all the electronic distractions from the bedroom including mobile phones and alarm clocks and really set up the atmosphere to be a sanctuary away from all the regular day to day distractions we face in this modern world.

5. Set the Mood - lastly if you want to create an intimate feeling in your bedroom keep it clean and tidy, remove all the clutter, light candles and incense, have dimmer switches on the lights, add some Feng Shui crystals to the windows and set a time when you have the home or apartment to just you and your partner. Finally close the bedroom door to contain the energy you have created for the intimate time with your partner.

Following these 5 Feng Shui Bedroom tips will help you to create a place of calm, intimacy and love and to give you time out from your regular day to day responsibilities.

5 Tips To Maintain Good Feng Shui After The Consultation Is Over

2010-08-17 Feng Shui No Comments

Feng Shui is like Health.  While a one-off consultation may correct some immediate problem features, you will then need to prevent new problems from occurring and affecting your life.

The most common features that you can take a preventive role in are:

1.    Keep all equipment and furnishings in good repair.  Throw out, or fix anything that is broken.

2.    Good housekeeping keeps the energy flowing smoothly and prevents stagnation. Remember how good your home feels after a good clean!  This is Feng Shui in action.

3.    Maintain the health of your garden.  Throw out plants that are not thriving.  They represent you!

4.    One definition of bad Feng Shui is that it’s whatever cheeses you off.  Whether it’s the uncomfortable bed you sleep in, the ugly view from the bathroom, the unwanted present from your sister-in-law, etc.  Whatever annoys you, do something about it!  Do not be a victim of your environment.

5.    Keep artwork positive and motivating.  Some things to watch out for are

  • sculptures of people with no ‘guts’,
  • dramatic posters/paintings of too-strong energy, such as light houses being pounded by heavy seas, or locomotive crashes
  • sad paintings or portraits
  • harsh abstract paintings

Again like health, most situations can be ‘cured’ with simple consultations.  However, if problems persist, specialist consultations may be in order to uncover the deeper causes of the situation.  Not only environments have Feng Shui, but also people and time.  Specialist consultations explore these Feng Shui factors of people, and/or of time, and diagnose these energetics in terms of the problems you may be experiencing.

5 Feng Shui Bedroom Locations and What They Mean For Your Love Life

2010-08-05 Feng Shui No Comments

Have you ever wondered how the different Feng Shui Quadrants can affect your bedroom? Did you know that where your bedroom is located within your house can actually determine what your love life is like? And, by the same token, where your bed is located within your bedroom can determine whether you and your partner are just “good friends”, or “a great couple”, or even “mostly physical”. Keep reading and you just might find out that your house choice may be affecting your relationship style!

There are 9 Quadrants in Feng Shui, and depending upon the school you may have read about, the names can change slightly from one to the next. So, for both non-Feng Shui experts as well as the Feng Shui savvy, I will list the bedroom locations with standard left/right/back/front/center descriptions too. See if you can find your bedroom location and what it is saying about you.

1. Compassion Quadrant:

When standing at the front door to your home and looking inward, your bedroom is at the Right Front corner of your home. Normally, according to my extensive research, partners whose bedroom is in this area of the house have a relationship in which one person does most of the work to keep the partnership alive. Sometimes one of the partners needs long-term care, or has lost a job, and the other has to step in to help out. As long as this is just a temporary phase things may be able to work themselves out in the long run, but if you’re single and your bedroom is in this location, check to see if you keep getting into relationships with a partner that you need to fix, help out, or just isn’t as interested as you in being close.

2. Creativity Quadrant:

When standing at the front door to your home and looking inward, your bedroom is at the Right Center wall of your home. What I have encountered with this location can be good and not so good! Your relationship may have lots of “creative physical” activity, wink, wink, but you may also have a marriage that is child-centric. This is the area for descendants, so be extra careful to keep your romance blossoming too. There are many Feng Shui recommendations to keep your love life happy, and this would be a great time to check some out!

3. Community Quadrant:

When standing at the front door to your house and looking inward, your bedroom is on the Left Center wall of your home. This area of your home is where Feng Shui honors your Ancestors and your Friends. You guessed it! If your bedroom is in this part of your house, your marriage may be more of a partnership and you have become good friends, more than romantic lovers. Of course each person has the choice in what style of relationship to pursue, so if this is what you desire then this is the location that is right for you.

4. Self-Empowerment Quadrant:

When you stand at the front door to your house and look inward, your bedroom is located in the Left Back corner of your home. This is also known as the Wealth area of the home, and relationships with a bedroom located here may have issues with finances. Of course, everything is relative, as I know a couple who has been together for a very long time and whose bedroom is in this area of their home. The important key is that they have also been business partners for most of their marriage too, and their bed is located in the Creativity area of their bedroom. That’s right, there’s another layer on information that’s important in determining what’s the link between your bedroom, your bed and your love life.

5. Relationship Quadrant:

When you stand at the front door to your house and look inward, your bedroom is in the Right Back corner of your home. This is the optimum location for a bedroom where a loving and committed relationship is desired. Your bed should be placed in the center of the wall across from the wall where the bedroom door is located, or in the Future area.

There are other quadrants, as well as many house designs, that need to be taken into consideration when finding out what your bedroom location is and what it’s saying about your specific situation. If you live in a home that has an “L” shape floor plan, you will have a missing quadrant and that will affect your outcome too. The most important aspect of this information is to begin living with knowledge and purpose, which means finding out where you are and what you really desire in a relationship and then getting the right Feng Shui recommendations for you! Good Luck! And Good Feng Shui!

Feng Shui While Building House

2010-07-19 Feng Shui No Comments

There are many things to take into consideration while involving feng shui into house construction. The first thing is to decide a good place for house. According to feng shui, the environmental chi plays an important role. Thus one should take utmost care while spotting a good place for home as it would welcome the positive energy into his house. Improper place shall not help even if one has the best feng shui plan in his hand. These places could be places near cemeteries, burial grounds, waste management centre, etc. or place which has hill side that falls away at back side or a place where the street makes a T-intersection at proposed place for house. Ideally one should have a slight rise at the back side of the house, an open front and a slight slope at the left (as one looks out from his house). This type of landscape is called as “arm chair” position.

The next step after finding an appropriate place for house is making an auspicious house plan. One should go for a normal rectangle or square plan but should avoid odd shapes like Z, U, H, T. A perfect square may sound bore but one may do some manipulations without missing the requisite corners. One should try to avoid large holes or cut outs such as central courtyard into a house plan. This may result into missing of energy, health or wealth.

Feng shui has an important theory into practice called “Five elements theory”. If one understands how this theory works, it is easy to build a harmonious and auspicious home. For example, if one’s house faces west or north-west i.e. metal directions, he may build up a house with stone features as it would be beneficial. Or if the house faces north i.e. metal element, then metal work or iron work during building of house is important as metal makes water. One should try to harmonize his home by using the elements associated with the direction. One can also make the facing portion of the house of the relevant material. For example, one can make a wood home for a house facing east or south.

One should try to personalize feng shui to bring optimum energy at his home. For example, if one has south-west as a success direction then he may put his home-office, bedroom, front door, etc at that direction. Similarly if he has east as his loss direction, then he may put his toilet, bathroom at those positions to restrict the negative energy. The personalization of feng shui should be according to the breadwinner of that house. Feng shui support goes to the person who is the bread winner or major support of that house. One should utilize all possible opportunities under feng shui to make his house a beautiful place. Application of feng shui is easy and simple.
